Walking on the edge of a river-32

English Translation – Swathi Sreepada

Telugu original written by – Dr.C.Bhavani Devi

last tree

Uniting earth and sky
With great thundering a demon thunderbolt
The last tree on the earth collapsed
In the childhood when embraced mother in a nightmare
Many a time when hugged that trunk of the tree
Stretching wide both the hands takes into its lap
When clothes were not known
It provided warmth covering in leaves
A mother that gave fruits and grains for hunger
When dumped down innocently
To the man’s dominating superiority ego
For the separating roots of the soil
Whimpering looking at the dry leaves
Many trees hidden in those seeds
Though we adore when blesses with health as a doctor
How can I estimate the cost of life donated saver
The breath of tree that turned as respiration of man
Looting by the man himself is a geographical sadness
The mother soil that protects as an eyelid
Man priced it long back
What can we say about a tree
When the las tree gets slashed by the human craze
To shed a drop of tear
You will not be there
O man
You will not be there
