War a hearts ravage-14
English Translation: P. Jayalakshmi & Bhargavi Rao
Telugu Original : “Yuddham oka Gunde Kotha” by Seela Subhadra Devi
Now then, confront
collapsing social situations and
disintegrating family culture.
How then
let us think what can be done?
Religions deluding man,
blind faith turning whole nations
to head-nodding herd of cattle,
the cherished stupendous structure of values
as eighth wonder,
shall we bind in any Masjid’s yard?
With blood tears bleeding bruised hearts
anoint any Temple’s God?
Squeezing our hearts, make candles
to light and hang in any Church front?
Mothers, think awhile, what we can do
for harvests of our womb?
Only once articulate heart’s voice
cry aloud thundering, quake the world.
As sparkled sprays of lightning,
through the sky sprinkle maternal love.
Plant saplings all over, to wear
heart’s flower buds afresh,
till nation fold is rapturous,
blow scent of human fragrance.
Elements as witnesses, shower motherliness
through war swayed-nations.
